Summer Snapshots

I loved living on the West Coast for a few years, so I'll always jump at any chance to go back. This trip was all about San Francisco and Napa. Strolling through The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market was super dreamy and the Napa sunshine was perfect. Obviously, there was some great food along the way, especially the pastries and pasta in Napa. But sometimes it's the food you didn't get a chance to eat that continues to haunt you. I'm still thinking about the empanadas and donuts I walked by in the Ferry Building and the dumplings I saw through the window inside Good Mong Kok Bakery. Until next time, California...

Headed back to Honey Creek Creamery right when the weather started turning hot. Henry and I loved bottle feeding the triplet baby goats.

Spent a July morning walking through Rhizophere Farm with my friend Kelsey. So in love with those sunflowers. Terra and Matt, you guys work so hard and your farm is beautiful! Thanks for letting me come visit.

Peach and berry picking at Kimmel Orchard. This was our first time and now we're planning to do it every summer.

The top photo was the dessert course from an amazing first meal at Baela Rose. Can't wait to go back! The next photo is from the T.R.E.A.M. (Tacos Rule Everything Around Me) pop-up with local chefs Jose Tomasello Cardeñas and Tim Maides. This first course was my favorite.

My friend Nicole made a trip back to the Midwest from Philly in order to bring her business Vestige Home to this year's first HutchFEST. I don't get to see her often but we're always able to pick up right where we left off. We spent our Sunday morning at the AKSARBEN Village Farmers Market, followed with brunch at Kitchen Table (do yourself a favor and order the grits), a walk downtown, and iced coffee from Beansmith Coffee Roasters. On Monday, we met up for pastries at Le Petit Paris and spent some time at Walnut Creek. We had a lot to catch up on, and I can't begin to explain how excited I am to watch her business grow.

Bring on the fall and winter adventures!
