On The Mend

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

I spent the first week of January sick with Influenza A. In fact, my whole family got it. That's right, all five of us stuck in the house for a week. There was lots of lounging, coughing and Curious George watching. One morning I threw in a little painting and coloring but honestly, it was the kind of sick that made even the thought of getting out paint seem taxing.

By the end of the week I decided I needed to go to three places:

1. The grocery store
2.  A greenhouse
3.  A frozen lake

I can be a very random person sometimes. A grocery store trip was needed for obvious reasons but in addition to that, I felt a strong need to see some plants and take pictures of a frozen lake. You know, just because.

So, after the grocery store was done it was time to go to Mulhall's.

This is my son, Henry. We bought a couple of birdhouses and he was trying to tell me that he already found birds living in them. Look at that face. So convincing.

And now for the ice. I ran over to the Walnut Creek Recreation Center.

Now, about the blog for a minute. I've been thinking that I'd like to show more of the creation process behind the products I share. The end result is always interesting but sometimes the journey of making something is even more fascinating. So, when possible, I'm going to share that process a bit more.

Thanks for stopping by. Here's to better health the rest of the year!

  1. I hope you're feeling better!! Being sick is not fun. I absolutely love that wreath! SO beautiful!

  2. Thanks, Erin! However, I think we've had a couple more rounds of being sick just since I posted this. We're so ready for spring at our house!
